Ground floor extension by Taylormade Building Projects, Sanctuary Point NSW

Ground Floor Extension: Sanctuary Point NSW.

Add the space you need without building up. Taylormade Building Projects delivers owner-led ground floor extensions in Sanctuary Point and across the South Coast — from slab to fit-out, all under one roof.

Ground Floor Extensions: More Space Without the Disruption

For most South Coast families, a ground floor extension is the most practical and cost-effective way to create more space at home. Rather than uprooting your household or taking on the structural complexity of a second storey, extending out at ground level keeps everyone together under the same roof while you gain the rooms you need — whether that's a larger open-plan kitchen and dining area, an extra bedroom for a growing family, a dedicated home office, or a media room. In many situations, ground floor extensions also attract a simpler council approval pathway, making the process more straightforward from the start.

The range of ground floor extension types is wide. Rear extensions are the most common choice — pushing the back of the home out to merge living, dining, and kitchen into a single flowing space that connects with the outdoor area. Side extensions are ideal where there's an unused side passage, and can deliver an extra bedroom, ensuite, or a dedicated study without touching the main living zone. Wraparound extensions combine rear and side additions to maximise available footprint and transform the layout of a home entirely. Whatever configuration suits your block and your goals, Taylormade can design and deliver it.

Taylormade Building Projects is based right here in Sanctuary Point. Owner and licensed builder Jarem Taylor has spent more than a decade working on homes throughout the area, and he knows the local housing stock intimately — the typical brick-veneer and fibro homes from the 1970s through to the 1990s that make up much of Sanctuary Point's streetscape, the block sizes, the common setback requirements, and the council processes through Shoalhaven City Council. When you deal with Taylormade, you're not dealing with a company from Sydney sending a team down the coast — you're dealing with someone who lives and works in your community and takes genuine pride in the result.

"Building in your own community means you're invested in the outcome in a way that no outside contractor can match. These are my neighbours' homes. I want to do work that lasts and that people are proud of — and that starts from day one on every project."

Why Choose Taylormade

Locally Based in Sanctuary Point

Taylormade's home base is Sanctuary Point. Jarem knows this area's housing stock, typical block dimensions, and Shoalhaven Council setback requirements intimately — local knowledge that saves time and prevents problems before they arise.

Owner on Every Project

There are no handoffs to a site manager you've never met. Jarem is personally present throughout your extension build — from the first slab pour to the final coat of paint — so quality is maintained at every stage.

Complete Scope Management

From slab to fit-out, Taylormade coordinates all trades — concreters, framers, roofers, plumbers, electricians, and plasterers — so you have one point of contact and a single, seamless build experience.

Fair, Transparent Pricing

You'll receive a clear, detailed quote before a single shovel hits the ground. No surprise variations mid-build, no vague allowances. If something unexpected comes up, we communicate it immediately — because that's how we'd want to be treated.

How It Works

1

Site Visit & Goal-Setting

It starts with Jarem visiting your home to understand what you want to achieve, assess the existing structure, and look at how the block can best accommodate an extension. This is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation — not a sales pitch. You'll leave with a clear sense of what's possible and what the process looks like from here.

2

Design & Council Requirements

We work through the design with you — layout, room configuration, roof line, connection points to the existing home — and identify what approvals are required through Shoalhaven City Council. Many extensions qualify as Complying Development, which offers a faster approval pathway. We guide you through every requirement so nothing gets missed.

3

Detailed Quote & Scheduling

Once the design is settled and approvals are in place, you'll receive a comprehensive written quote covering all labour and materials — slab, framing, roofing, internal fit-out, and finishing trades. We lock in a start date and provide a build schedule so you know exactly what to expect and when.

4

Construction — Slab, Framing, Roofing & Internal Fit-Out

Work begins with site preparation and the concrete slab, followed by timber framing, roof structure, and weatherproofing. Once the shell is weather-tight, the internal trades move through in sequence — plumbing, electrical, insulation, lining, plastering, and fit-out. Jarem is on site throughout to manage quality at each stage and keep trades coordinated and on schedule. Your home is treated with respect and left clean every day.

5

Handover

We walk through the finished extension with you room by room, checking everything is exactly as agreed and that you're completely satisfied before we consider the project complete. If anything needs attention, we sort it without question. Our reputation in this community depends on you being genuinely happy with the result.

What Our Clients Say

Google Review

"The biggest thing that made our process so easy was trust. After meeting Jarem, you could very quickly identify that he is a genuine, respectful and trustworthy individual. This was a major deal breaker for us as without being able to entrust someone to work independently, responsibly and who was diligent in their workmanship, our project would have never commenced."

Tania & Greg Nathan — February 2025
Google Review

"I was really happy with Jarem's work. He came on schedule and the price was very fair. He listens to what you want and pays attention to detail. The tradesmen were clean, tidy and respectful. I have already booked him for my next project."
